Over the course of 9-12 months I’ll be receiving three different chemotherapy drugs to treat my brain cancer. Two of these drugs are oral, and one intravenous. The regimen, named PCV, is very calculated and strict. I’ll be going through a total of 6 cycles of therapy. Each 36 day cycle is broken down as follows:
Day 1; Gleostine
Day 8; Vincristine
Days 8-21; Procarbazine
Day 29; Vincristine
After day 36 has ended, we begin on Cycle 2, and it continues on until either all 6 cycles are complete, or my body says no more.
During 𝗖𝗬𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝟭 I left Buffalo by myself for a weekend with the intention of returning home with a song and some photos. The first PCV cycle has been completed, the first song completed, and the process documented visually. I will be writing and releasing one song per cycle in this same manner. I don’t know what each track will sound like. Some cycles I may have only have enough in me for a few droning notes, and hopefully through others I’ll find something special.
Through music and photography I’ll be able to share some of this journey with you. And when we’re done, we’ll be able to step back and take in the entirety of the Cycles together. Cheers.
